Two friends, Ana Paula (Vanessa Goulart) and Lydia (Luciana Brasil), take a trip to Two Streams, Ana's family summer home. There they meet Teresa (Ingra Liberato), who is taking care of Hermes (Carlos Alberto Riccelli).

Hermes is Ana Paula's uncle, a political exile who is secretly orchestrating his officially approved return. The two girls develop crushes on the charismatic man. For Lydia this occurs despite the fact that her father is a military officer for the regime that exiled Hermes. Later, in a violent encounter with Teresa's abusive boyfriend Percival, a local official, Hermes is forced to come out of hiding and expose himself.
